iPhones and iPads are the most commonly jailbroken devices, giving away the confidentiality of personal information to hackers and spammers. But what essentially is this jailbreaking? It is a worm that replaces potentially important information in one’s phone with spam and reveals secret information about a user to hundreds of hackers. Consequently, anyone can break through the device’s password and read through its details.
IPhones seem to be the tempting target for jailbreaking, but fortunately we now have the Cydia apps that enable evasi0njailbreak tools to be installed on the compromised devices. This is a free app and takes less than 3 minutes to complete the task. You need to follow the below mentioned steps in order to install the evasi0n app on your iPhone5:
- Open the Cydia app and download the mobile terminal, once installed, open the terminal that resembles a typewriter style fond on a black screen with the iPhone’s name.
- To change the root password that has been compromised, type the following instructions as they are – type ‘su root’ and ‘alpine’ and ‘passwd’, pressing enter between each command and then type a password that could be easily remembered.
- Press enter though you don’t see anything on the screen and re type the password to confirm. Press enter and then type ‘exit’. Press enter again and do remember that this is not the password used to unlock the iPhone, though the same procedure can be followed to change that as well.
To change the mobile password, follow these steps.
- Type ‘passwd’ – enter – type ‘alpine’ – enter- type the password that you can easily remember (no character appears on the screen, root password can be used here as well) – press enter key and re-enter the password for confirmation. Press enter again – press exit- enter.
With these simple steps, your jailbreaked iPhone5 is entirely secure once again. For those whose iPhone5 is not compromised with the jailbreak worm doesn’t need to do any of these.
