The iPhone Dev-Team’s jailbreak method doesn’t support the Cydia app. It’s because the jailbreak is designed for the developers only. However, as iDownloadBlog shows, it is indeed possible to install Cydia on a jailbroken iOS 6 iDevice, using the following method.
1. Install iOS 6 BETA 1 on your developer-registered iDevice, and also to have jailbroken it via iPhone Dev-Team’s recently released redsn0w 0.9.13dev1 software. Once this is done, boot tether your iDevice using the software.
2. SSH into your iDevice, and carry out the following command: “wget -q -O /tmp/cyinstall.sh http://wyndrepo.googlecode.com/files/cyinstall.sh && chmod 755 /tmp/cyinstall.sh && /tmp/cyinstall.sh
3. The iDevice must re-spring, and the Cydia app will appear on your Home screen.
It’s basically a simple method as most jailbreak tweaks and apps won’t have been updated for iOS 6, and that you’ll probably run into some compatibility problems. Besides putting together the original post, iDownloadBlog also uploaded a video of the process for jailbreakers to check out, which we’ve included below. Good luck!
